When Covid began the treatment strategy was extremely poor. Patients were started on steroids and intubated to provide respiratory support later to find out that steroids too early in the process are harmful and unneeded intubation was causing lung damage to healthy tissue. Over the past 2 years many options have been tried and further options continue to be explored.
Currently the IV infusion of monoclonal antibodies has been extremely helping in treatment, however this treatment is not available to everyone. There are inclusion criteria that must be met and can only be administered at an infusion center. Additionally, there is now an anti-viral oral medication available for treatment, Paxlovid.
We provide assessment and treatment for active Covid-19 infection and Long-Haul Covid via in-person or virtual visits.
We work with patients to determine the best treatment option for them. If a patient wishes and is a candidate for monoclonal antibody treatment, we provide a referral for the infusion. For other treatment options we can send prescriptions to the patient’s pharmacy. We also offer medications to be taken home from our clinic.
